THE SOLITARY SPARROW IS
READY TO FLY!!
(ALMOST)
The gorgeous illustration on the left is the cover to my debut novel, The Solitary Sparrow. I love it and can't wait to see it in readers' hands.

Book One is the first of THE MARGARET CHRONICLES, a series set in the 14th century and featuring Meg of St. Michael's Mead. The book will be published in the next five months by Atmosphere Press. Along with the Atmosphere team, I've been working on many elements of the book. It's been so much fun!

I tried really hard to make this book a treat for readers. I worked with a wonderful artist in the UK to add a map of the village of St. Michael's Mead and I found a talented UK female narrator to read the book for the audio version -- her voice is incredible.
Last week I finally viewed the digital edition. It looked so real -- just like a real book (and I got goosebumps and a big lump in my throat).

I'm so excited. It's all coming together. I can't wait for you to read it!!

Don't you love this map?
That's only a small portion - wait 'til you see the rest of it.

The gorgeous background design on this page is from the Lindisfarne Gospels, written and illuminated by monks around 700 AD on the island monastery of Lindisfarne in the north of England. The artistry of the illuminators, working by hand without benefit of copy machines or computer-aided design, is stunning. Visit the British Library site to "turn the pages."

The Lindisfarne Gospels makes an appearance in the last book of THE MARGARET CHRONICLES.
